Proposed District Plan Hearings

Proposed District Plan Hearings

Hearings are an opportunity for submitters to talk to an independent panel about their submission on the Proposed District Plan. The panel will consider what submitters have to say and any further evidence they or the Council provide, before making a recommendation to Council on any changes that should be made to the Proposed District Plan.

If you made a submission, and you said in that submission that you wanted to be heard at the hearing, you should be getting regular emails from the Hearings Administrator to keep you up to date on the process and when you’ll be appearing. If not, please contact the Administrator on district.plan@huttcity.govt.nz.

Due to the size of the plan and the number of submissions, the hearings are divided into ten “streams” that will cover different topics. If you made a submission, you might appear at just one stream or several streams, depending on what topics your submission covered. We will contact you to let you know if you need to appear at a particular stream.

Go to our Hutt City Council - YouTube to watch our live Hearings.

Note: You cannot speak at live meetings unless you've applied to speak and have been accepted.
