About the cleanfill

Cleanfill is material that will not have an adverse effect on people or the environment when buried.

This includes:

  • natural materials - clay, soil and rock, concrete or brick (commercial customers only)
  • other inert materials - free from anything that could be/produce hazards to people or the environment.

Who can use the cleanfill

The Wainuiomata Cleanfill is only for commercial customers only.

Commercial customers can contact the cleanfill about any testing requirements for material, prior to disposal.

The cost is $14/m3 (excl. GST).

Who manages the cleanfill

Cleanfill operations are guided by the Ministry for the Environment (MfE) and regulated by the Greater Wellington Regional Council and Hutt City Council.
