Cleanfill

Find out where you can take clean fill material.

What is clean fill

Clean fill is material that will not have an adverse effect on people or the environment when buried.

This includes:

  • natural materials - clay, soil and rock, or brick
  • other inert materials - free from anything that could be/produce hazards to people or the environment.

Where to take clean fill

There are two cleanfill sites close to Lower Hutt: Kiwi Point, and the new cleanfill in Upper Hutt on Fergusson Drive (Contact martyn@goodmans.nz; 027 204 1587; only available for commercial volumes > 1,000 cubic metres). Relevant fees and acceptance criteria apply.

Clean fill material can also be taken to Silverstream landfill. Refuse disposal fees apply.
